Speech by the Dean of the School of International Relations in India
Participation of the Dean of the School of International Relations in an Expert Roundtable at the Institute for .Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) of India
Dr. Mohammad Reza Dehshiri, Dean of the School of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was in New Delhi to participate in the Meeting of Heads of BRICS DiplomaticAcademies, attended an expert roundtable organized by the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) on the sidelines of the meeting. The session, titled “Recent Developments in West Asia,” was attended by a number of Indian scholars and experts and was chaired by H.E. Sujan Chinoy, Director General of the Institute. In his remarks, Dr. Dehshiri outlined the dimensions of what he described as the aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States during the Third Imposed War against Iran. He also examined the experiences and lessons of Iranian resistance, emphasizing that resistance is founded upon strategic rationality, reliance on national capacities, and the preservation of the dignity and independence of nations. Referring to ongoing regional developments, he further stressed the necessity of establishing a regional order based on dialogue, cooperation, and respect for the sovereignty of states. Dr. Amir Reza Sherkat, Deputy for International Cooperation and Specialized and Applied Training at the School of International Relations, and Dr. Omid Babelian, Representative of the Institute for Political and International Studies in New Delhi, accompanied Dr. Dehshiri during these discussions.
