Speech by His Excellency Dr. Araghchi Minister of Freing Affairs of Iran at MIGIMO University of Russia

His Excellency Dr. Araghchi Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran delivered a speech at MIGIMO University of Russia (Moscow State Institute of International Relations).

Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech at MGIMO University of Russia (Moscow State Institute of International Relations) on December 17th, 2025. In his remarks, he stated: “We had a very productive discussion with Mr. Torkanov (the respected President of MGIMO University) and agreed to cooperate in the academic sphere. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran has a School called the School of International Relations, where we train students in the field of international relations, who may later have the opportunity to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This School maintains extensive cooperation with universities and similar Universities abroad and today we agreed to organize both joint master’s degree programs and short-term training courses for students of our respective institutions. I am pleased that this opportunity has now been created, and you will be able to visit Iran for short-term or long-term programs, especially students of Persian language, to become closely acquainted with the people and society of Iran and to strengthen your Persian language skills.”

The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs also responded to a russian student’s question regarding the expansion of relations between MGIMO University and Iranian universities and the possibility of organizing short-term visits,stating: “ We discussed with the relevant officials the organization of short-term and long-term programs for students of this university in Iran. I will certainly task the School of International Relations with pursuing this matter, and I am confident that these programs can provide a very good opportunity for a deeper familiarity with Iran. To be honest, I was very impressed by the level of Persian language proficiency of the students, and I hope they will definitely travel to Iran and strengthen their language skills through direct interaction with the Iranian people.
