 As part of the ongoing series of “Cultural Tuesdays” Sessions organized by the School of International Relations, on Tuesday, Dey 9th 1404 (December 30th, 2025), Dr.Abolhassan Firoozabadi, esteemed CEO of the Zaeem Technology Development Group, former Secretary of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, and former Head of the National Cyberspace Center, visited the School and delivered a lecture entitled “Technology Diplomacy with an Emphasis on Artificial Intelligence.”

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Dehshiri commemorated Dey 9th 1404 (the Day of Insight in Iran) and extended congratulations on the auspicious birth anniversaries of Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (Jawad al-A’imma) (AS) and Amir al-Mu’minin, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS). In his address, the distinguished speaker emphasized the importance of the new geopolitics of technology, elaborating on its main characteristics, including the convergent nature and global essence of modern technologies. He highlighted the role of technological components of power in shaping national power. Dr.Firoozabadi further noted that technology elites at both national and international levels are gaining increasing capacity for agency and influence; consequently, states are compelled to design and implement smart and proactive technology diplomacy. According to him, the country’s academic and scientific institutions can play an effective role in the formation and strengthening of this type of diplomacy through interaction and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an endeavor that constitutes one of the fundamental requirements of the emerging global power system.

 The session was held in the presence of Dr. Dehshiri, the respected Dean of the School of International Relations, along with deputy deans, faculty members and students. Following the lecture, participants commemorated Dey 9th (the Day of Insight) and engaged in a question-and-answer session and exchange of views with the speaker. In another part of this cultural program, coinciding with the auspicious birth anniversary of Amir al-Mu’minin, Imam Ali (AS), a group of students from the School marked the occasion through poetry recitations and declamations. The session concluded with the taking of a commemorative group photograph.
