1401/09/20
On 1st December 2025 (10 Azar 1404), nine selected students of the School of International Relations, led by Dr. Seyed Hossein Sadat-Meydani, a faculty member of the School of International Relations, were dispatched to Japan as part of a student exchange program in cooperation with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF). During this trip, the student group visited three cities including Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Kyoto and, in addition
to participating in the planned educational programs, visited various sites.
At the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and in the presence of Japanese students, the Iranian students delivered presentations on four topics entitled: “Multilayed Governance in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” “Prospects for
Iran–Japan Cooperation in the Renewable Energy Sector,” “Iran Through the Lens of Cinema,” and “The Zionist Regime’s Aggression Against Iran: The Emerging Order in West Asia.” The latter two topics were also presented during the students’ visits to Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (in meetings with Persian language students) and the University of Tokyo. The student group also visited Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, and the Japanese Parliament (the Diet), where they met with three members of parliament. In addition, they visited several institutions and sites, including the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), museums, and various religious and historical locations, particularly temples. Overall, the students gained valuable insights into Japan’s culture, politics, economy, knowledge, and technology.
Moreover, His Excellency Mr. Saadat, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Japan, who had welcomed the delegation at the airport upon their arrival, invited the students to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tokyo, providing them with the opportunity to become familiar with the functions and activities of embassies. It is worth noting that throughout the trip, Iranian and Japanese students had the opportunity to get acquainted and exchange views on various issues, sharing extensive information about their respective countries. Finally, the student group returned to Iran on 11th December (20 Azar). The Faculty of International Relations expresses its gratitude to the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tokyo for their assistance in facilitating this trip.
